Where do the recordings come from?

Every show streams from the Internet Archive's public Grateful Dead collection. Dead Shows doesn't host any audio itself.

What do SBD, MTX, and AUD mean?

They're recording sources: SBD is a soundboard feed, AUD is an audience recording, and MTX is a matrix that blends the two. Dead Shows picks the best-rated version by default, and you can switch your preference in Settings.

A show won't play or a setlist looks empty.

This is almost always a temporary hiccup reaching the Internet Archive. Check your connection and try again in a moment.

How do downloads work?

Downloaded shows are saved on your device for offline listening and can be removed anytime from the Downloads tab.
